Tasting the Tuscan Countryside.

DSC_0033 copyToday I went to an organic farm in the Tuscan countryside, surrounding Florence. The farm is called San Michele A Torri, and they produce organic wine, olive oil, yeast, honey, and even house their own animals. After our tour of the grape harvest and cellar, we had the opportunity to taste their own Chianti Classico, Chianti Colli Fiorentini and a Strawberry dessert wine. During the wine tasting we sampled some of their best olive oil on bread made from the yeast and grain they produce and also tasted some of their delicious cold cuts, such as pancetta andย finocchiona, salami with fennel seeds.
The farm also has a restaurant in the center of Florence along with a store where you can purchase wine, handmade pasta, honey, farm bread and their meat products. I ended up bringing home a big cut of finocchiona to have at the apartment!
